Say what?

So, is it the craziest blog name or what?

The name has been in my head for two years, since I fell unceremoniously one summer evening and cracked the large bone in my dominant forearm. Oh, did that hurt as it swelled like a puff ball after a week of rain.

"Let the bones you have broken rejoice."

That sentence floated around my mind all during that summer. I knew it was from the Bible, but I ccouldn't remember where. I can't remember what process I followed to track it down, but eventually I ran the quotation to earth.

"Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones that you have broken rejoice."

The eighth verse of the 51st Psalm, as translated in the English Standard Version. The confession of an adulterous king who ordered a murder. Serious stuff. But the way to newness of life lies along this path. Repent. Rejoice. Renew. Let the bones rejoice.
